MALCOLM DISSON - FOUNDER

Malcolm has over 25 years experience in the fine art shipping industry, starting out as a sales executive working for major fine art and antique shipping companies.  Malcolm had found his niche, he loved to meet new people, build solid relationships and provide excellent service to his clients.  He still does.

In 2004, an opportunity presented itself for Malcolm to buy a business and become his own boss.  He only needed a partner, and Simon was the first person to come to mind, after having worked together previously.  They both invested all they had and together created The British Shop.

Malcolm has been in his element ever since, still personally looking after his clients, whilst driving the business forward with innovative ideas and strategies to ensure they are market leaders with their skills in specialist packing and shipping.  From 2004 til now, Malcolm still thrives on the challenges of this exciting industry.

SIMON WILLIAMS - FOUNDER

Simon has a degree in Fine Art Valuation and started his professional life in 1998 at an auction house as a Gallery Assistant.  From there, he has worked in export co-ordination and management for some major shipping companies, always in the fine art and antiques world, and has loved every minute of it.

He first met Malcolm very early in his working career, he actually worked for him at one point.  When the opportunity arose for them to join forces and create their own specialist packing and international shipping company, they both jumped at the chance.  In those early days, Simon was out driving the trucks, packing the pieces and delivering himself.  It has all come a long way from there, but he still loves to drive the trucks once in a while.

In 2016, The British Shop started a new venture in New York, joining forces with Tramo.  Simon has taken himself and his young family across the pond to oversee the start up and run the operation to The British Shop’s exacting standards.
